Present the Certification as Legal Evidence

We help you understand

How to present the Certification as Legal Evidence

🎯 Your Certification Options

ContentProtector.eu offers you two certification levels to adapt to your legal and budget needs:

📧 BASIC CERTIFICATION

Upload + Hash Only

💰 FREE
  • Certified SHA-256 Hash
  • Automatic confirmation email
  • Dedicated certification page
  • JSON file with technical metadata
  • ⚠️ Legal value: This combination generates valid documentary evidence under EU legal framework and provides qualified probative value through subsequent forensic authentication activity when required.

💡 Ideal for: photos, documents and standard personal or professional materials

🔐 QUALIFIED CERTIFICATION

Digital Signature + Timestamp

💳 1 SIGNATURE FROM YOUR PLAN
  • Certified SHA-256 Hash
  • Qualified RFC 3161 Timestamp eIDAS compliant
  • Downloadable .TSR file for verification
  • EU regulation compliant
  • 🏆 Legal value: Immediate and incontrovertible proof. We use qualified timestamp compliant with EU Regulation No. 910/2014 eIDAS and ETSI standards (EN 319 421 / EN 319 422). This qualified timestamp has full legal value throughout the European Union, certifies the certain date of file existence and constitutes evidence with qualified probative value enforceable against third parties under EU law.

🎯 Ideal for: Contracts, patents, creative works, legal documents, procedural evidence, music, books, software, projects…

Tip: Use qualified certification for important documents that might be used in European courts. Basic certification is perfect for everything else.

  • Are the certifications provided site-independent? – how we guarantee validity and verification outside the platform.
  • Basic Certification with CERTIFIED COPY – reliable proof of authorship with digital fingerprint and attestation, without the cost of a timestamp.
  • Qualified certification with TIMESTAMP – the advanced version, valid across the EU, compliant with RFC 3161/eIDAS.

❓ Service usage images and certification page

With ContentProtector.eu, every file you upload is instantly certified and stored in your personal archive.
To give you a clear idea of how it works, here’s a practical example showing the main service screens.

1. File upload

From the Reserved Area you can upload your documents, images, videos, or audio files. Once the upload is complete, the system automatically generates the cryptographic hash and, if requested, applies the qualified digital timestamp. Your file remains secure in your personal storage, always accessible.

2. Certification list

In the My Certifications section, you’ll find a complete list of all your certified files. Here you can search, filter by date, check file sizes, and verify the SHA-256 hash linked to each document. It’s your personal archive, neatly organized and always ready for consultation or legal use.

“My Certifications” dashboard displaying certified files, SHA-256 hash, and search filters.

3. Example certification

Each file has its own dedicated certification page, showing technical details (hash, timestamp, metadata, QR code, upload information). This document proves the authenticity and integrity of the content, ready to be used as evidence in legal or forensic contexts.

Certifications created with ContentProtector are designed to remain valid even outside the platform.

Hash + Email → constitute technical evidence documenting the existence of a file at a specific date, but in case of disputes it will be necessary to request an authentic copy (from contacts menu) in order to make it fully admissible as legal evidence.

Hash + Email + Qualified Timestamp (QTSA, eIDAS compliant) → have autonomous legal value and are enforceable throughout the European Union, even if ContentProtector were no longer online. The qualified timestamp is issued by an accredited Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP) and retains its probative value regardless of our platform. The user is solely responsible for saving a copy of the certification page (e.g., “print as PDF” from the browser) together with all downloadable files therein, in order to ensure personal preservation.

In summary: with a qualified timestamp you are not dependent on our site, while without a timestamp our support remains necessary to grant full legal force to the certification.

📧 How to Use Basic Certification as Legal Proof

⚠️ Important Disclaimer

Basic certification has limited probative value in European courts if an additional authentic copy is not performed. Therefore, to be presented in legal proceedings, it requires documentary support, a certification we can provide at the costs indicated here, to be fully effective under EU legal framework. It is still useful for establishing a temporal presumption and demonstrating good faith.

🎯 Legal Strategy for Basic Certification

📋 1. Document the Process

  • Generate PDF of the certification page
  • Save confirmation email received with hash value
  • Note the certification page link
  • Download the JSON file with technical metadata

🏛️ 2. European Legal Support

  • Request Authentic Copy from our technical support
  • Download the authentic copy
  • Present the documentation with EU legal value

💡 Legal Expert Advice

Basic certification is an excellent starting point, but for truly important documents, invest in qualified certification. It costs only 1 credit but gives you immediate and unassailable legal proof valid across all EU member states.

🔐 How to Use Qualified Certification as Legal Proof

🏆 Decisive Advantage

Qualified certification with RFC 3161 eIDAS timestamp has immediate legal value and constitutes privileged evidence in European courts. No additional documentary support required.
